Rosie Tucker - Spinster Cycle

There's something really great about pairing a light touch of tube distortion with a sweet voice like Rosie Tucker's. For me it has the same appeal as Julie Doiron. She's got a way of framing the gut wrenching events that change our lives in a playful and whimsical way. Spinster Cycle finds biting metaphors for breaking up in a laundromat and presents them wrapped in a bouncy infectious melody.

Rosie's earlier efforts were primarily acoustic with solid up front melodies. Her songwriting style transfers easily to the stronger sound when she plugs in. What does it for me is that she's not shy about throwing in a bit of trippy jam to emphasize her point. She got a knack writing the song that will have you humming all day long.

Spinster Cycle is the second single of an upcoming EP, Watch for it in Early March.

Start with Spinster Cycle, Fault Lines and from her earlier record, Fix'er Upper.
